Here is a Weaver 1990 BRASS O PRR M1a 4-8-2 Mountain Steam Locomotive & Tender (3 Rail). This powered Pennsylvania steam locomotive features all-brass construction, knuckle couplers, realistic smoke unit, long haul tender with dog house, and electronic reverse unit. This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. Drawing its roots from South Africa and first introduced in the early 19th century, the 4-8-2 or also commonly referred to as the “Mountain” type made waves when it first hit rail-ways thanks to a re-designed truck system that granted these powerful locomotives excellent stability when traversing at high speeds with passenger cars. Their practicality and reliability would not go unnoticed and the 4-8-2 quickly found itself commissioned to rail-yards across the world. The 4-8-2 has since moved on from rail-yards and now several models can be found in various museums throughout the United States. This item displays light scratches and paint imperfections across the body and underframe. The wheels show signs of prior usage and wear. The original box is included. The box has been repaired by the previous owner using tape along the edges. The instruction manual is not included. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
